I was looking for information about the pill and?!

Question: in part of the information it says:
How Do You Get It?

A doctor or a nurse practitioner must prescribe the Pill. He or she will do a complete physical exam, which may include a pelvic exam. The doctor or nurse will often prescribe 3 months' worth of pills and explain when to begin taking the Pill and what to do if pills are missed.

what do they mean by a phycical exam.. and what happens?

Whether or not they do a pelvic examine depends on whether you're sexually active and/or use tampons. I was prescribed birth control without a pelvic, but I wasn't sexually active or using tampons at the time and doing a pelvic would have been very difficult. However, if you are having sex, expect a pelvic and a pap.

It's a little uncomfortable, but fairly quick--your OB/GYN will feel for abnormalities and tenderness and may take a swab or small tissue sample. Nothing big and scary to worry about. :)

a pelvic exam is am examinationm of the vagina. they check to see if there is any lumps bumps or abnormalties so if there are future problems they can compare. its not sore but its a bit uncomfortable.

although i know many people who are on the pill and none have had pelvic exam.

I've read that, but my doctor just checked my blood pressure and weight. Slacker I guess
