If you are over 18, then it is available over the counter. If you are under 18, you must have a prescription. When I got it from my school pharmacy it was $28, but prices vary depending on where you are. Usually side effects are nausea and vomiting, but if you eat before you take each pill, you shouldn't feel any of these effects. I ate and felt fine all day. Make sure you get it as soon as you can though, because the longer you wait, the less effective it is.
It is available w/o a prescription, you just have to go to a pharmacy and ask for it. It's about $50... I felt a little sick to my stomach but that's about all... Oh, and my period came a little early that month but I was very happy to see it. ;-)
