Two miscarriages - 3rd pregnancy - more at risk?!

Question: I have had two miscarriages in a row and am now on my 3rd pregnancy - I did not have a period between any of them... Am I more at risk to lose this one? I'm so nervous and almost just waiting to miscarry again... I guess I'm just wondering why some say to wait a month or two after a miscarriage to try again - does this mean that I'm probably going to lose this one too? Any advice or previous experience would be greatly appreciated - thanks!

You are at somewhat more risk for another miscarriage than a woman who had only had one. But it's by no means a foregone conclusion.

The reason they say you should wait a month or two is to give your uterine lining time to rebuild. I hope very much that you keep this pregnancy, but if you don't, next time wait two full cycles. Then if you miscarry AGAIN, you need good medical advice.

The following NY Times articles has some good leads.

Congrats!
First of all be confident at you!
Then take the medical advice from the beginning!!!
physically and also mentally you should take care!!!

Honestly ever women is at risk of a miscarriage. There really isn't a pill or much you can do. I am so terrible sorry that this has happen to you, but sometimes 3 is a charm. I have had two miscarriages and two wonderful pregnancies, and now I have two beautiful little girls. Just know that with miscarriages something was wrong and your body (being as amazing as they are) had to reject it.

Best wishes for you!

The best thing is to talk to your doctor (maby a female one!)
and to just relax being nervous can stress you out a cause a change in your body, maby causing a inbalance of your hormones which might effect the child.
also be carefull on what you eat and make sure you dont drink, smoke, or have too much fatty foods but make sure to have plenty of water, vitamins and nutritious packed foods so that the baby will recieve them and hopefully grow healthy.
certain foods and drinks like coffe actually cause miscarriages! (so ive been told) so be carefull witch certain foods.
Maby talk to your GP about advice on which foods to eat and what not to eat.
Im sorry about your 2 miscarrages- lets hope this 1 is a Baby =]
Good luck

can i ask how far on the losses were, as my friend lost three babies and know has a great wee girl, but there was another reason for the losses ,, which medicaly they dont tend to look at until you lose three children i know it is cruel but this si what we were told,, she had to have her cervix stiched to hold the baby in for as long as possible,,, hope all goes well and do not hesitate or feel that you are putting people out if you feel unsure about things stay positive and goodluck
