Go to your doctors.
I can tell you that I have been through this, after the birth of my second child, not only was it very uncomfortable, but could be very embarrassing (and expensive), when I got to the stage that not even 4 pads did the job that I needed them to.
You need to see a gynaecologist - speak to your doctor about this - but things can be improved - it had nothing to do with smears etc. in my case, and hopefully not in yours.
don't keep putting up with this - but make an appointment.
ALL THE BEST

check with the dr to ease your worries

go to your doctors

try going on birth control that helped me back before i was pregnant

Those big black jelly like clots are blood clots. Maybe you have vaginal swelling. I would get yourself checked out.
I am not a girl, but i sympathize.

if you had a pap a year ago, it's time to go back in for another one. Tell the gyn about your period problems. You may need to go on birth control to get your periods under control.

Go to the gynecologist!!!!

go to the doctor you could be pyramading and if you are you contact poisen control right away

Go on birth control pills to regulate and ease your flow. Talk to your OB/GYN.

You need to go back to your doctor and ask him to check it out

that happened to my mom she is in surgery right now its about similar to what ur saying. they had to remove some stuff in her gull bladder bc her periods were very painful maybe u should go in to surgery too

hey doll, not sure whats going on.. definitely call the doctors..

if you are going through more than 1 pad in an hour you should go to the hospital.

are you breastfeeding? your body may be trying to regulate itself or something...

Birth control pills or the shot can cause blood clots....talk to your doctor

If you had a pap done since giving birth i would assume that your body has just changed alot since. Mine have changed alot since i turned 40, so i'm having another pap done to be sure.

I've had the black jelly like clots before too. i told the dr and she wasn't concerned with them.

You might want to go to the dr's and see if you can be put on the pill to regulate them better, it may help with the heaviness of it, as for the crampings, try drinking lots of water.

when i'm super heavy i take ibuprofen....eases the cramps and lightens the bleeding. But go see your doctor again, just to be sure

Hmmm......

sounds like it could be that either your body is still trying to recover from the previous pregnancy,or your body may be just changing do to the pregnancy.

if you said you had a pap-smear done, and it came back normal,do not worry, you don't have cancer or an infection....it could be just from the pregnancy...

after my son was born,it took my body almost 2 yrs to go back to normal.:)

GOOD LUCK!!

i would say go to the docs i had this but only a few months after having my little girl the clots were wearing me out when one came out i felt drained luckily this has stopped but i do know if it carries on it menas something isnt righ you either havent healed right or your bleeding too fast in your womb and you body will then clot it as it cant push it out as quick as its coming i read this on a doctors website once. i feel for you as god they are weird but 21 months isnt right and you need to be looked at good luck

I had these same problems only mine occur ed after having my tubes tied. Ask your doctor about Nova-Sure. This is a new surgical procedure that only takes about 5 minutes total! I had this done and it was wonderful. No more periods, immediately. No cramps or any of the things associated with the period. It was even painless. But you can't do this if you plan on having more children. If that's the case, you may want to try something else. But if you think this might be right for you, i assure you that you won't regret it. This is the best thing I've ever had done in my life!

If the clots are bigger than a golfball or even close, got to a Gyno now. Seriously, you could have what my mom had. This is how it started for her. She had such heavy bleeding that she could barely walk. She had two kids in the past, my sister and I, and she was 46. She was two weeks late, and one day it just "all came out" I guess you could say. That's when it is really bad. My mom had that and she had to get her uterus removed. The doctors tried a lot of different things like "burning" her uterus. Then she had a full hysterectomy (sp?) a year ago and she is fine now. Is the blood black? It could be "old" or something worse. I'm not trying to scare you or anything, just please go, you really don't want it to happen to you.

Have you been checked for endometriosis? There may have been an onset since the birth of your son. I would check with you Ob/Gyn. The blood clots are only a big concern if they are a large size.

Also, it could be excessive estrogen brought on by the weight gain and can be helped by a low carb/ refined sugar diet, improved liver function, and exercise.

can you say hysterectomy

You should check with your doctor to be sure there is nothing wrong. You could have a hormonal imbalance having to do with your pregnancy and the childbirth (too much estrogen and not enough progesterone), which can easily be treated.

In the meantime, drink lots of water and take ibuprofen. You may also have mild anemia as the result of such a heavy flow, so also take a multivitamin with iron.

Umm yer id say itwas normal the same thing happened to my sister
the big back clots are just bigger clots of blood we all though nd so nothing to woory about but obviously when you have your tubes tied youll be fine as you wont have periods but until then you could use evening primrose oil to relax the muscles and things also painkillers should do the trick

goodluck and hold on haha

Andrea,

Having your tubes tied next month will not resolve this problem. The "big black jelly like clots" are exactly that...clotted blood which formed from the build up of uterine lining accompanying your period. Based on what you didn't say, I assume this problem has started after the birth of your last child. It is much more symptomatic of a estrogen/progesterone ratio problem related to the release of luteinizing hormone and egg release. You definitely need to talk to your ob/gyn about it and it needs to be addressed prior to surgery.

Drink fluids, take ibuprofen or aspirin and a heating pad on your abdomen may provide temporary symptomatic relief. The fact you are seeing clots is a lot less alarming than if you were seeing copious amounts of bright red foaming blood.

You didn't describe how many days in a row this continues for.

What you describe isn't typical of cancer, either uterine, ovarian or cervical. One person mentioned endometriosis, but based on what I know, I think that is unlikely.

use a big,fat tamp
