Haven't gotten my period and I know I'm not pregnant?!

Question: I'm not pregnant for sure, but it's been a little bit over 4 weeks and I haven't gotten my period yet...usually my period comes every 3 weeks...without skipping or being late...any ideas as to why I'm not getting it?

As a teenager and up into my late 20's I was usually never regular. For some it's a matter of stress, change in diet or change in schedule. Sometimes womens cycles will change to be in line with those around them. Has your diet changed? Are you under stress? Do you have a new friend whose cycle may differ from yours? Maybe your Mom hasn't had one {they become less frequent as we age} and your body is changing because of hers?

There are LOTS of different reasons and things that it "could" be. I'd say talk with your Mom and/or Doctor. Sorry I don't know if you're younger and living at home where you might need to consult your mom or not. Either way it's not all together unnatural. I skipped an entire 4 months when I was in boot camp.

It's not unusual if you skip a period or have a longer time between periods to have a heavier flow when you do get it. It can also be painful for some. Best of luck and hope everything is okay.

Are you young and only had your period for a little while, it could take some time to normalize. If you are older it could be the beginning stages of menopause, it can take years for your period to finally stop. Also stress or certain health problems can cause delayed periods.

could be stress this just happened to me id never missed before and all of sudden i had a late period i think it was due to stress i finally got it yesterday once i finally calmed down

It could be a diet change, like maybe you lost a lot of weight or it could also be from stress.

it ok some times my period does not come for like 2 months and some times it comes every 3 weeks

isn't every three weeks a little too often? Once every four weeks should be more like it, unless you count your period week as the fourth and I'm just confused about how you are counting. Anyway, hormones are weird. Have you lost weight recently? If you are underweight it can stop. Has your diet been different? Have you changed your lifestyle? Are you super stressed? New meds? All of this impacts your hormones and in turn, your period. Take a look at your life and try to see if something has changed recently. Mine wont come if I am too stressed.
