Breakthrough bleeding?!
Question: I've been having breakthrough bleeding for a few days. I missed one pill over a week ago, and my last month on the pill was ridiculous (started late, doubled up a few days) so I am guess that's what's causing it.
Does breakthrough bleeding signify that my pill isn't working? Should I use a back up?

Always use a backup when you miss any pills. And the BTB is most likely b/c of the missed pills. BC pills work on a blood level basis, you keep the blood level of the hormone at a certain level by taking the pill every day & if you stop, miss or get to the placebo week, the body's hormone level drops & causes bleeding

it's working, but it's not as effective. so definitely use a back up method. it's possible you could end up ovulating, and if that happens, you don't want any sperm fertilizing it, so use a condom.
