i felt like that too. just relax. it WILL NOT break. the easiet one to put in and take out is Playtex Sport (you cant even feel it).

Order a diva cup or buy the instead cup. No strings attached.

Just know that it is very very unlikely the string would break, and if it did you could easily reach your finger in to get it out, it will not get lost inside of you. Just know that and relax nothing bad could happen.

The more experience you have with taking out your tampon, the easier it will be. Be sure to remove the tampon gently and slowly. Most likely, the string will not come loose. I have been wearing tampons for years and that has never happened to me. Next time, take a deep breath, pull out the tampon slowly and gently and you should be fine. Remember, if for some strange reason the string were to come loose, it would still be easy to remove your tampon, but I doubt this would happen.

Heyy I'm 15 to and also very active!! I'm on my schools swim team, volleyball team and soccer team!!
I use tampons and i find just close your eyes and take your time breathe and pull! You will get used to it don't worry!!
Good Luck

I've used them for years and I still tense up a bit when I have to take them out. It's a natural reaction. Be happy that you have good muscles in that area. I take a big breath in, then exhale as I pull it out. It helps a bit. I also make sure to relax my stomach muscles. Sometimes they get clenched and I don't realize it. Just practice a bit. You'll get used to it. Like the other person said, the string won't come loose, but if it does, you can't lose the tampon.

Why don't you discuss it with the swim coach. I am sure they have dealt with it for years. You may even get better information.

Using a tampon can be likened to putting a cotton ball in the hole at the end of a wine bottle. If you feel anxiety about removing the tampon just try to relax and know that tampons were designed with a very sturdy string that most likely will not break. The tampon cannot "get lost" inside of you as there is a very tiny opening into the uterus called the cervix which stays closed unless you are giving birth. This prevents the tampon from getting lost. Once inserted the muscular walls of the vagina hold the tampon in place until you pull or push it out. Also if the string did break you could just push (like a bowel movement) and the tampon should slide right out on its own. Don't freak out, lots of women take years to feel comfortable with inserting a tampon and if you need further instructions there is an insert that comes with the each box which has a diagram explaining how to insert and remove the tampon. I hope that helps! Tampons are perfectly safe as long as you remove within 4 hours. That prevents an infection called TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrome).

That could be because you aren't leaving it in long enough to have it absorb enough. If you take it out too quickly, of course it's going to be more difficult.
