How will I know when I will start my period?!

Question: How will I know when I'm going to start my period? I have discharge etc and I am developing. I'm 12.
I think I had a light period last Summer but I haven't had ANYTHING since. I am also getting quite moodyish about anything like the slightest thing!!

Thanks xx

Periods usually start about within a year of breast development beginning. There's no real way to tell. The heavier discharge is a sign but there's nothing that can let you know you're going to get it on the 15th of april for instance.

Being more emotional is a sign of increased hormones, many women do experience this before their period but thats when they've reached a plateau in their hormones- yours are most likely all over the place at the minute!

The only thing i can advise is if the discharge is quite a prominent feature right now you can expect a period within the next few months. You can start wearing panty liners every day or just carry some pads around with you in case it pops up.

Uhh, why don't you go ask your mommy or daddy??

You havn't had your period yet, and you should feel lucky. I wanted to start so bad and when I did I realized how much it sucked... but we all start and so you'll know when Aunt Flo comes to town. Her first visit is the biggest and you'll feel it before it happens. you'll feel cramps and when you dishrge for the first time it kinda feels like you peed your self, but you'll get uses to it. Sibce your 12 and develping your chances of your mood swings meaning something are very high... thouse are signs of P.M.S. When you do start i reccomend using tampons, theire weird looking and awkward to put in the first time but there are like super heros when it comes to periods... switch it up with pads to prevent TSS.

Hope this helps!
