Seasonique for constant bleeding?!

Question: I have been having problems with my period, in that I don't know when I actually have my period because I bleed all the time. In 2006 my doctor prescribed me Yasmine, which worked really well and regulated me. Well, I went back this year because I had stopped taking the Yasmine for 6 months and had been regular ever since, but suddenly the constant bleeding was back again. He put me on Yaz in January 2008. Well, I didn't bleed at all the first month and the next two months were just constant breakthrough bleeding. I went BACK again Thursday and just wanted to get another prescription for Yasmine again. Instead he gave me Seasonique. I've heard many women with normal periods have breakthrough bleeding with Seasonique. I've been losing weight and he told me this is why I'm having breakthrough bleeding and I'm going to have it no matter what as long as I'm losing weight. He told me to finish the month of Yaz and then start the Seasonique. Has anyone else had good results with Seasonique?

Personally, I think you should interview a new doctor.

If you are bleeding like that, she/he should suggest a laproscopy or hysteroscopy to find out why you are bleeding like you are. Not just give you bc go mask the problem.
I can feel your pain... struggled with endometriosis and cysts for more than 10 years. Gave bc 5.5 years of my life... chemical menopause and still suffered with the pain, anemia and horrible periods and bleeding... I had to make a hard choice because my body was been wrecked. I had a hysterectomy two weeks ago today. And I feel like I did everything possible before the final surgery... so if your dr. is only giving you the option of bc for your horrible symptoms... I'd interview someone else!
You might even try going to PPH and see what their ob/gyn says. They do exams and bc too...
