Any woman out there who suffer from Poly-Cystic Ovary Syndrome who can give me s!
Question: I ve only be diagnosed in the last 6mths but probably something Ive had for many years. Ive been told to follow a strict low Gi diet, exercise and lose a bit of weight to maybe overcome and be fertile. I'm just so tired and have no energy and finding it hard to find foods suitable - any ideas from other who have had success overcoming symtoms

I'm 18 and have suffered with acne for 10 years before finally being diagnosed with PCOS last November. I was put on the pill which has helped my acne enormously!!! I was told to follow a low-gi diet as well (but I'm addicted to sugar!!!) Everytime I stray a little from the low-gi (Coke and malteasersare my main vices) I gain over 5 pounds. I've completly ballooned!!! I used to only have my period every 3-4 months which I kinda ignored as a problem cos it was more convenient to just not have them. I find my energy completly sapped but I now take multi-vitamins and fatty acids and ginseng to try and keep me awake (I'm still not looking to run a marathon or anything) at the very least. I really do struggle with the low-gi foods with most recipes including stuff like adukki beans (!!??!!) so I mostly snack on apples and pears with 3 meals a day. I drink loads of water and green tea sometimes even though its kinda gross. Pcos is not a life limitingcondition by any means but I hope you manage to balance your weight and energy levels eventually.
On a wierder note, I consider myself to now be an average weight but my cholesterol has shot through the roof recently!! Did this happen to you??
