It's common for virgins to be unable to use tampons, right?!

Question: why?

Answers: why?

You can tear your hymen through tampon use, which could be a little painful.

It has nothing to do wirh your sexual status.
First time users may have a little trouble until they get the hang of it.
Virgin or not

No, virgins can use tampons just like non-virgins can.

You will NOT tear your hymen by using tampons. It is not that a virgin is unable to use a tampon, it is just a matter of learning to insert them correctly

No one is unable to use a tampon unless of some health reason. Ever girl can, it just takes getting used to. I don't personally because it's horribly uncomfortable. That's just me. The comfort level of those things was the same before and after sex. So it's common for girls, especially virgin girls, to not want to use them because of the comfort level.

It shouldn't matter if you are or arent. I've never had a problem when I was a virgin and neither has my daughter who is now 18/virgin.

I think you just need to practice. Try it lying down on your back first so you get the angle right and are more relaxed. Before long you'll be able to do it sitting on the toilet. DO NOT use a SUPER ABSORBENT tampon! Start with slender/regular's. Even after 2 kids those super duper ones would get stuck in me and hurt like heck to pull out!! Use a mini pad or panty liner as a back up until you see how your doing for extra protection.

Some women are never comfortable with a tampon. I have many friends who've never been sucessful with it. I always hated wearing a "diaper" pad...they were pretty big and bulky in the day and we had little innefective little elastic belts that were supposed to hold them in place! Talk about a nightmare! And then try to go to school with all this going on! So using tampons was a huge improvement and a dream come true! I think I would have used them even if I had to walk a little funny! Didn't have a problem walking...just saying!

If it's in the right way you shouldn't even know/feel it there. They are easier to insert when you are actually having your period after a day...so if your a newbie maybe wait a day or two before you try again or practice.

Also...it's not a good idea to wear them to bed this was because of toxic shock many years ago but I guess it's ok if you put in a fresh one before bed and then remove it right away in the morning. I would please my mom and use pads at night if I was home in my own bed.

If one ever gets stuck...don't be embarrassed to ask for help...doctors/nurses see this and your mom/trusted aunt/friend will even help you. Don't leave it in hoping it will eventually come out...you could get a bad infection and you'll be able to really smell it then! Grown women sometimes forget about them until they smell "something". So it does happen and it's not a big deal unless you don't get it out!

My mom (I'm 45 now) hated that I used tampons...thought that only nonvirgins used them...you know the not "nice" girls. I would actually give my Grandma cash and she would buy them for me! Grandma's are awesome! I am the only girl of my sisters to use them comfortably and I was a very "nice" girl!!

Good luck to all who read this and don't worry about "ruining" your gift to your future husband....if your passing menstral fluids you have space to insert a tampon safely.

They used to have girls go to the doc before their wedding nights to make sure their hymens wouldn't get into the way! I've heard this from the "older women" in my family. I was told it was to "spare" them in case their hymens were totally blocking the vaginal canal. Wonder if that is still a problem? You would think they would know something was wrong way before the wedding night! Could be old wives tale?? Or just a way to get girls to a gyno to discuss birth control etc...or open the door to discussion? Who knows??

NO
