Question: what is microdermabrasion? What do they do? How much does it cost? What are the after effects? Who should get it? (I'm thinking of getting it - I'm 16 and I have lots of blotches on my face, I think from sun damage)

I had several microdermabrasions for acne scars when I was 16. They usually cost a couple hundred dollars per session.
They use a little rotating crystal thing (they told me it was diamond) to exfoliate your skin. It removes the top layer of skin, which removes a lot of damage (wrinkles, scars, acne, discoloration, etc.) and allows fresher, newer layers of skin to show through. The basic purpose of microdermabrasion is to "refresh" your skin.
Afterwards, my skin was a little bit red for a day or two. They mentioned some sun sensitivity, so try to stay indoors right after your microdermabrasion. Don't use any harsh products on your face (e.g. go without makeup for a day, don't use any masks or scrubs).
Most people getting microdermabrasion are middle aged and older women who want to remove fine lines. However, I think it will work for the blotches on your face, as microdermabrasion helps even out skin tone.

that i know of its uses chemicals to even out ur skin tone and help treat acne....not 100% surre. i think its around 150.00
