A question about Birth Control???!

Question: So I've been taking Yaz for 2 month's, and I have not stopped bleeding, For the first month I had a migrain and fatigue. Clearly this is not working for me.I was thinking about getting the Mirena thingy, does anyone have any advice about it? Is it working for you? Have you had any side affect's?

Mirena is for women who have had one or more children.
It's an intrauterine device (IUD) that contains the hormone progestin (specifically: levonorgestrel) that works for up to five years. You may or may not get your periods regularly with it because of the hormones.
You've also got to be 100% monogamous because if you catch an STD like gonorrhea or chlamydia, they have to take it out immediately or else you can put yourself at risk of PID.

Yaz is one of those birth control pills I've noticed that can go either way; girls will either get their periods longer or shorter.
You may need something similar with a higher estrogen. Try Yasmin. Its got 30 mcg of estrogen vs 20 in Yaz and its got the same progestin, so you shouldnt have any breakthrough bleeding. If you want the shorter period, and like the 3 extra active pills, you can try Loestrin 24 Fe.
I've been on Loestrin 24 Fe for 5 months and I love it =)
But make sure you get the 24 and not the 1/20. Warner Chilcott makes Loestrin 24, a generic co. makes the other.

However, if you have just started taking birth control, give it 3 months total. The first 2 months you will get side effects and if theyre not gone by month 3, you should change your prescription. But with any birth control method, you have to give it the full 3 months trial period to be sure it does/doesnt work for you

Give it time-hormones are very hard to get under control, but once they do, they will regulate the body to a normal state again and you wil have no problems. i appluad you for being smart enough to start taking them in the first place! Good for you! Dont Worry-it just takes a few months!

Maybe Yaz Isn't for you. Try talking to your doctor about other Types of birth control that would be better for you. Best of luck!

Mirena is a different hormone base so it might suit you better. But as for my experience...well mines going to be different to your regardless... our bodies all react different ways.

Have you told your Dr that you have had a 2mth bleed? I bleed for one month and it was hideous, so I can't imagine what it must be like for you. Talk to your Dr about what he thinks you should try.

In the mean time be very cautious to drink LOTS of water, and eat nice fresh fruit and veg to keep your energy up.

Good Luck!

ortho tri cyclen- lo .. the best..
everything else i had side effects.. ortho lo had none for me.
