I'm a dancer so I may be able to help you with this one.
First, have a talk with your mom and ask if you can use tampons for your performance. If she says you can't, then get a pad without wings and put it on right before you go onstage. Since you'll only be out there for three minutes you should'nt have any problems.
Second, a strapless bra will do. If you worry about it falling down, get one that has the hooks and put a strap around your neck. You wont be able to see the strap because it'll be under the halter.
Good luck!

okay steel a tampon from ur mom and be sure she doenst find the wrapper or get a pad without wings...and yes a strapless would be fine but remember that ot might slide down a little but anyway hope this helps

A strapless bra sounds like a good idea. As for the period thing, I cant imagine a mother that would not let her daughter choose what personal hygiene items she wants to use. I would have a talk with your mother, and let her know that pads just dont make sense with your lifestyle. If your mom wont let you have them, I would go out and buy them yourself. You dont need an id to buy tampons. If you are old enough to be menstruating, you are old enough for tampons...they are purely a personal choice.

I went through the same thing. My first period happened a day before my dance competition so obviously I couldn't use a tampon yet since I was new at it.. I put on a skin tone leotard underneath my tights and I put the costume on that.

I would recommend changing the pad if you have a long break between dances.. as for me, I didn't have much time to change it so there was a lot of blood when I went to change it.

A lot of people in my dance team wear bras with clear straps, so you can try that. I wish you luck on your recital! =]

Well if your parents dont let you use a tampon and say you have to use a bad. Just use a tampon without them knowing, would you rather get in trouble for using one, or die from embarassment??

About the bra thing, im not sure about that, I dont wear them.

talk with your mom about using a pad for the performance. if she says no, you can get a pad without wings, although i would probably just borrow a tampon from a friend or buy some yourself....it's YOUR choice, do what makes you comfortable.

as for a bra, I would use a strapless...i always buy them in a size smaller then my regular bras b/c i think it fits better that way (so if you're a 36 b, try a 36a)...but try some on at the store and dance a little while you're wearing one before you buy it. good luck!
