Do I have an infection 'down there'?!

Question: I'm 14...and so far i have never had a yeast infection. I know the symptoms, and i have none of them, except that I smell fishy down there. But it's not my discharge that smells fishy...my discharge smells like nothing. its just 'down there' that smells fishy. BUT the only time it smells like that is at the end of the day, like at night before i get ready to take my shower. now this is common for me..it has been since i was 11. and i have never thought anything of it, until now. I just always remembered to clean down there, and then it doesnt smell anymore, until the next day at the end of the day, after all the sweat and walking around. or whatever. Do you think I may have an infection??? I never thought I did, and i dont think its yeast infection cuz i have none of the symptoms.

It's probably nothing to do with your genitalia but rather your body's natural odor.

There are sweat glands -- similar to those found under your arms -- lining the area of your inner groin (the crease of your leg). When you sweat, and the sweat is trapped against the skin by your clothing and the bacteria are allowed to grow for the day, and you develop odor (just like in your armpits). So try to wear looser-fitting clothing and wearing cotton (which breathes). Change out of damp clothing as soon as you're able to.

If it becomes terribly offensive, try dusting yourself with a deodorant powder before dressing or spritzing your underwear with a deodorant body spray (FDS for example). NEVER spray directly on your genitals...this can lead to infection.

If you are really concerned, do mention it to your doctor the next time you have an appointment.

You'll know if you have a yeast infection. They itch like nobody's business! If this smell is normal for you, I wouldn't worry about it unless you get other symptoms such as a fever, swelling, or streaking. That area of the body has a lot of sweat glands and body odor becomes more pronounced as teens get older. Wear cotton underwear, and if the smell bothers you, try some of those odor-absorbing panty-liners. As long as you keep yourself clean and otherwise feel healthy, you are probably fine.

Sounds like it is just your natural body odor. Do not use sprays or powders to cover it up, those CAN cause yeast infections. Instead, use unscented panty liners but do not use anything scented.

i dont think you have an infection just remeber to clean "down there" and if it still smells after like a week you should talk to you're mom or a doctor

fishy is not natural .. you need to go and get some mitronizadole (spc) and that will take that away .. TRUST..sometimes your body just doesnt mix with certain things.. and try sleeping without underwear at night!!

because your paranoid ur probably cleaning it too heavily at the end of a night. it needs its own secretions to stay balanced and if you wash them away then yes it will be fishy. if your using sponge or cloth, then stop, and start using your hand to clean down there (some people think thats gross i dont know why if you masturbate with your hand anyway) try it for a few days i think youl be surprised.

No you just need to clean down there really good and use always moist wipes down there real good.
