When should I take my tampon out?!

Question: I put my first tampon in about 2 hours and 30 mins ago. When should I take it out? And when I do take it out, how hard do I have to pull and how badly will it hurt?

Well, take it out when it's bloody. but don't leave it in for more than 4-5 hours! it really depends though. you should look on the box and see how long they suggest.

never leave it in for longer than 4 hours...you just pull the string ....and it shouldn't hurt

Go ask your mom

you have a good 5 and a half hours left and just pull on the string hard enough to get it out :S

take it out the next time you have to pee
it wont hurt that badly...and pull it out in one swift movement
DONT leave it in overnight however..so take it out right before bed and put a pad on.

every couple hrs.

it wont hurt that bad but if it is ur first then it might feel a little uncomfortable. and u should take it out at about 6 hrs. also u shoudlnt have to pull that hard but when u pull be sure to pull the opposite way u put it in.

when the blood comes out

1. Take it out in 4 or less hours from now or when it starts to leek out.

2. Just relax your muscles and pull hard but not too fast.

every couple of hours.

take em out after 4 hours of use. it wont hurt at all, if a tampon is in right (deep enough) you shouldnt feel it

keep it in as long as you need to, but no more than 8 hours
And it hurts like a mofo. haha just pull on the string

It shouldn't hurt, but it may be a little uncomfortable. Most tampons last about 6 hours. If you start spotting or bleeding before that, take it out then. You don't have to pull too hard, just a little tug usually does it. Don't worry, it will get easier to do and less uncomfortable with more experience.

8 hours is the ABSOLUTE MAX.... but most people don't risk keeping it in that long.
Changing it about every 4-6 hours is the norm.

You shouldn't feel it, when it is in, if you do, you didn't put in right and need to take it out and try putting another one in.

You don't have to pull with tons of force to take it out. It should come out pretty easily & it rarely ever hurts.

because it is your first, take it out in about 2 more hours. You don't have to pull hard just tug on the string. It doesn't really hurt, it just kind of slides out. Don't worry, if you keep practicing, it won't feel as weird after a couple of times.

You'll know you should take your tampon out when it slides out easily when you gently pull the string. Removing a dry tampon can be a bit uncomfortable. You generally don't want to leave a tampon in for more then 8 hours (due to the increased risk of TSS.) How long before you start checking depends on you. For someone with a very heavy flow it could be 2-4 hours. For others it could be 6-8.

Don't worry. I remember when I first started using tampons and I found it quite scary too.

If you are in the first couple of days of your period, it should be quite easy to take out. I usually change mine about every four hours. It won't hurt. You will get used to it. Tampons are great because you can still go swimming and stuff. Just remember to use the correct one for your flow and to change them regularly.

A tampon can usually last from 6 to 8 hours. It really depends on your body. Some days are lighter and some days are heavier.

I personally would leave a tampon in no longer then 4 hours on a heavy day and no longer then 6 hours on a lighter day. Also depends on if you leak...You're gonna wanna change it then.

Maybe seeing how it's your first time using a tampon...then maybe you should leave it in for 4 hours and see how things go....Experiment with it..
So that you can adjust to the flow of your own body.

Hope this helps and all goes well.

Oh...and give it a good pull if it doesn't come out very easy at first. Cuz sometimes if it's a bigger tampon it can be harder to come out...which also depends on the size of yourself in that area.
But just pull...it may feel little uncomfortable at first and tight...but that's normal.

Good luck!!!
And...also...if you don't think it will come out...for heaven's sake...do NOT get in the tub.....it won't help.
It will in fact make it worse.
A friend of mine was a little scared to pull it out and thought it would help if she got in the tub....didn't work....that will make the tampon swell up bigger.
Anyway...don't be afraid....just relax and pull it out.

Nothin to it!! Piece of cake!! You'll see!!

Never take it out.

leave it in no longer then 8 hours.
( it says so on the box)!

ummmmmm? ewwwwwww!
