No, there's not. The pap smear is done by examining a sample of cells from the cervix- and the only way you can get those cells is to go in there and scrape a few off. And there can be changes to a cervix that can only be seen by looking at the thing. If you wore your ovaries and cervix on the outside, perhaps it would be less of a trick to examine them. But being internal, there are only so many options. Ovaries will show up on an ultrasound- but that's rather expensive to do when a quick exam will do the job. So you hate pap smears. I've never met a woman yet who loved them. But it's a once a year deal, and only takes a short time to do. It's time well invested, and beats dying of cancer because you just didn't like the exam. Tote it up as one of life's little unpleasant responsibilities- right up there with the dentist and scrubbing the toilet. Not the most exciting and pleasant way to spend an hour, but necessary all the same.
Firstly you cannot check your ovaries with a pap smear only your cervix, secondly it's not a spoon like item, it's a q-tip looking thing. A pap smear is the only way to properly check your cervix.
I don't think so. I have heard of a blood test now that can check for certain types of HPV.
