How protected from pregnancy am i?!

Question: my boyfriend and i have only ever been with eachother so we're not worried about STI's or anything. But as extra precaution i am on the pill (which is 99% effective) and we always use condoms (which are 97% effective). Do you think this makes it as near to impossible to get pregnant as we could be? eg. almost impossible to get pregnant the chance is so tiny like 0.0000000001. or does anyomne think i'm still risking pregnancy?

Also, recently we've started off having sex without a condom but then putting it on before he comes so he doesn't come inside me. As i am also on the pill (which i always take at the same time everyday without fail) do you think this is safe?

You are well protected. However, keep in mind that even if he puts a condom on after he has been inside of you, his precome contains sperm as well.

As you take the pill correctly every single day, you are fine.

If you used the birth control pills and a condom at the same time then you are being more safe. It's good to be efficient when doing this though. Always use a condom no matter what!!! If you take off the condom, you are increasing your chances of getting pregnant. It's better to be safe than sorry. The pills could be a failure. You never know. I've known some people who only goes on the pills and don't get pregnant. And there are other people who goes on the pill and DO get pregnant. It depends on the situation and person. In my opinion, you should use both from now on even if you think are you are safe. THE safer the better and you wouldn't have to worry so much. By worrying too much, you'll be stressed. Stress makes you look older and is bad for your health.

if you continue on the pill, you are fine. But pulling out hardly ever works. Tell him to use it before and not during sex.

You are well protected but remember if you are sick or have diarrhoea or on certain anti biotics the pill loses some of its effectiveness

You are protected for most part .

But.

Your odds of getting pagnant .03 x .01 = .0003 abot 3 times out of 1000, if this figures are correct.

You wrote "Also, recently we've started off having sex without a condom". The chance of STD are 100%, and 1 % for pegnancy, there are many kind of STD like east infection and other that can develope even in a monogamus relationship but chances are remote.

Go to a planned parenthood clinic and see what is available.

The pill is considered so reliable that many people don't use a condom. By using one, you are basically at the safest you can be. Remember, the pill has a 'normal' reliability of like 92% because of errors in usage. The way I think about it, if 100 couples use the pill, 8 will get pregnant in a year. And those are the people who forget pills, or don't take them consistently....etc. if you aren'y one of them, you'll probably be just fine..
