Where has my sex drive gone???!
Question: Ever since i started on my birth control pill 4 years ago,i have lost my sex drive,it just seems like a huge effort to want to get intimate with my man.When ever i fnish my pill and am waiting for my period to start,i always seem to get a sex drive at that time.is there any thing i can take that will boost it back up for me while being on the pill?

This is pretty normal for birth control...I was in your same situation and tried everything to restore it. I switched pills a couple times and gave up, the libido was just not coming back. I then found a natural herbal enhancer that is supposed to increase your sex drive and a couple other things. It's called Hersolution gel, read up about it at herenhancement.com where I saved on it at the time. However it's like an instant libido rush and as I kept using it my sex drive was through the roof and continues to be. from reading your story i personally think that maybe you should come off the pill? this may regain ypur sex drive.

I would talk to your OBGYN about it. There are pills with low estrogen, etc. Maybe you can get they type of pills that you are on switched, and see if that helps. Good Luck!
I would talk to your ob/gyn. They should be able to suggest different ones with lower levels of estrogen. I would work with the doctor to find what is best for you. Is this the only medication that you currently take that has that particular side effect?
Also, personally my drive seems to get pumped up right before I start also. I have always assumed that it just had to do with that time of the month.

The pill made me lose my sex drive (ortho tricyclen lo). Something to do with sex-hormone binding proteins being produced when the pill is broken down in the liver. These make it so your sex hormones become inactivated. From what I've read, it only gets worse the longer you stay on the pill.
I switched to the NuvaRing (transdermal and therefore not broken down in the liver) which has totally reversed the effects of the pill (yay!). The patch, an IUD and the depo shot would all work in the same way. I love the nuvaring though because I only have to deal with it once a month!
