Oh dear! UTI's can be quite serious if you don't treat it! UTI's can progress into a kidney infection so it is very important that you go to a doctor so you can start on antibiotics right away!

You really should tell your dad. He won't be weird about it and he will understand. Women are more prone to UTIs and they are actually quire common. Trust me, your dad will only want to help you and will think nothing of it!

As for how you could have gotten it. If you have had sex with your boyfriend and haven't washed your genitals after sex or practiced post-sex hygiene it very well could be from your sexual activity! This is how MANY women get UTIs. it's no big deal really, just make sure you get it taken care of for they can turn serious.

The second way is through wiping the wrong way. It sounds gross but this is another common way to acquire a UTI!

Just practice good post-sex hygiene and tell your dad and you will feel much better!

You should go ahead a make a Dr. appointment, because if left untreated it could spread to your kidneys and cause an infection in your kidneys. Drink a ton of water and stay away from sugar right now. Also 100% juice cranberry juice helps too. And yes, if you are having sex with your bf it could be the cause of your UTI. UTI are much more likely to develop if you are sexually active. Don't stress, it's a common problem a lot of women get.
