Should I really start taking prenatal pills?!

Question: One of my friends told me that I need to start taking prenatal pills. She says that they will clear up my skin and help my hair to grow. I am 32 not pregnant, never been pregnant and am not trying to get pregnant at this point in time. Will it be harmful for me to start taking these pills? She tried to get me to take her prescription prenatal pills but I refused. Are prenatal pills harmful for me?

prescribed prenatal pills are usually too much for a lot of women. I take a multi vitamin that actually has more vitamins and minerals than pre nats. Your hair and nails look better because you are lacking something. Omega 3's are great for hair and nails. Just look into a really good quality multivitamin or better eat lots of fruits and veggies.

prenatal are not harmful. you should start taking them if you are ttc...it is good to have everything your body to need to be normal before your baby arrive...

They are not harmful, and you can buy them without a prescription. They do have alot of iron in them, however. You would be fine to take them, or if you are not comfortable with that, then just buy some Centrum (also very effective for healthy hair, etc.)

I have heard that prenatal vitamins do make your hair grow a lot faster, but to be on a safer side, go to a pharmacist and ask them about it to see if there is any harm in taking them. they will more than gladly answer all your questions or maybe refer you to other vitamins.

But for sure ask a pharmacist before taking anything.

Prenatal are not harmful, But don't take something you don't have to . Just take some multi-vitamins. They help with the nutrient in your hair and with your skin. Drink plenty of water watch your diet. And I'm happy you did not use your friends prescription wise chose.
