is it true??

When you're coming up to your period, you can gain a little bit of weight- generally only a couple of pounds at most- and this is due to water retention, your stomach looks bigger because the lining of your womb is thick and ready to break down, and sometimes you eat a little more as a symptom of PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome). Once you start your period, food cravings gradually fade but the first few days you might like to treat yourself to a little more chocolate than usual! This is perfectly OK, and a few days of indulgence won't make you gain any weight. What's not true is that you can eat what you want and as much of it as you want and not have any consequences. Saying that, your body generally needs a little pick-me-up during menstruation so it's quite alright to be unhealthy for a few days!

Try not to worry about it all, nearly every woman from about 13-50 has a period every month and you don't see them changing drastically in size! If you're feeling especially worried about getting fat then you may be developing an eating disorder- keep an eye on it and don't let it take control of your life.

It is true.

You don't gain weight, you just get bloated from excess water. You probably don't notice yourself getting "fatter" because you're so bloated there really is no difference. I wouldn't suggest eating "anything you want" because during your period is when you need the most vitamins and nutrients such as iron and calcium.

it's true that women can gain some weight during their period, this weight is usually water weight. BUT if you eat more than you should you will get fat. period or not, doesn't matter.

no thats not true!
Periods do not affect the metabolism. During a period, some people may get bloated, but weight doesn't fluctuate

Not true. if you eat like a pig you're still going to gain weight on your period. Basically, you may gain a couple of temporary pounds ordinarily, from water weight and bloating, but it goes away after your period is over. But if you eat alot and gain "fat" weight it will NOT go away..

Fact - Girls body weight can increase by 10% during puberty.
And eating more chocolate will make you more fat anyway, but during puberty it will be faster too.

You should have your healthy food regularly and forget your hopes concerning loosing weight at different days of the menstrual cycle.
