Doctors like to follow up with any treatment they have recommended to make sure you are OK or to see if you have any questions or concerns. They also use that time to educate their patients on how to avoid such conditions in the future. Your doctor may also have other things which they would like to discuss with you in person, but usually it's nothing of a serious nature. If it were, the doctor's office probably would have just had you come in to get your results in person, instead of notifying you by phone or mail.

to ex[plain fully what you have. how you can treat it. and what the tablets will do. how long you need to be on them for. checkup times etc...the list goes on. good luck

Make that appointment and go and find out it may be nothing to worry about but you wont find out by asking questions here only your GP. can tell you what it is that they want to discuss.

To talk over the infection, to check the metronidazole is working and maybe to ask about any sexual partners you have, as they probably need to be checked even if they have no symptoms.

Have you checked the date of the letter? It might have been sent before you saw your doctor.
