Message from my GYN????!

Question: I had my annual exam about a week ago. Today, I received a voice mail from the "advice nurse" (whatever that is) saying that I needed to call them. I was told I would get a postcard saying that either everything was normal, or it wasn't, but it may take up to six weeks. Here it is a week later, and I'm getting messages. Should I be worried that something is wrong? I know I should wait and just call them tomorrow, but I don't think I'm going to be able to sleep for worrying about this. Has this ever happened to anyone else? And is it usually bad news?

I used to work for an OB/GYN and if the doctor didn't call himself then it wasn't to much to worry about. If the nurse called it could be something as small like your insurance information. I have never heard of an advice nurse. Maybe that is something that they are trying to introduce. Try to get some rest and call them in the morning. Hope that helps

no........

you may have had abnormal cells during your pap. That is normal, because usually those abnormal cells disappear by the next pap... It has happened to me.

New Tech - causes new worries. The messages are being generated by some program that is probably in the beginning stages. That means you need to let them know how the messages made you feel that way they can adjust their programs so not to generate so many messages .. You will be helping them iron out they message system.

You should call them back as soon as possible. I do not know if you're sexually active but if you are they could be calling you with very important results. Or on the other hand they could be calling to tell you that they found yeast or bacteria that you will need a prescription for. Don't be nervoius though. Just make sure you call back as soon as you can and take care of whatever they need you to do.

Could very well be they need another sample from a pap smear. Or could be something very trivial. Please don't worry until you have a reason to.

you sound like me....inablitity to wait and you must know....and your worried...nobody can tell you what's going to happen....but you can stop worring b/c it's not going to help or hurt you and you know i don't know if your into God or not....but if so pray....peace may come. i will for you.
