WHY do people take birth control pills?!
Question: I just want to know WHY people use them! I know about condoms and stuff but I just want to know why!

Well, birth control can be taken either to help prevent pregnancy OR some people are given it to help stabalize their hormone levels. If someone has an irregular period or slight depression, they may perscripe birth control pills. Although I do not completely agree with this practice, many doctors do this. But the most common reason is because it is shown to be more effective against preventing pregnancy. However while it is more effective, it is not 100% guarenteed you will not get pregnant. Also believe it or not alot of men and women are allergic to the latex in condoms so birth control is the route to go for them. Just a lil bit of info. hope it helped :)
Some people like them to regulate periods. Some people are really athletic or swimmers and would rather go without it for a while. Some people want it to reduce their chances of conception. I hope this helps. (I would not want to take all of the risks that are on the box)-having a stroke scares the crap out of me!
Because they do not want to get pregnant or carry condoms with them all the time. They also do not trust the guy to have one or to have stored it properly. Some women and men do not like to use condoms so they use this for protection. And some want the double protection.
Well they use them so when they "do it" they dont get pregenet. But if your planing on using then Definitly still use a condom for extra protecion. Or they use it so there period is more well injoyably and lots less panful.
I had to start taking them when I was 15 to help regulate my periods. I didn't even have sex until almost 2 years later. But I then began to get migraines from one of the types of pills they had me on. So after I had my daughter, my doctor switched me to the Nuva Ring. I don't get headaches now, and they do not cause you to gain weight like some of the pills did me. They are also more effective than condoms in keeping you from getting pregnant, if you take them correctly. I hope this helps you.
I take birth control pills for 2 reasons. The primary reason is because I have PCOS, and my doctor wants me on them to shut my ovaries down and give me a regular period. The secondary reason is that I am protected from pregnancy, so my boyfriend and I can be more spontaneous if we feel like it, and not worry about having a condom handy.
Obviously to prevent pregnancy but I also like to be able to control and put off my period. I take seasonique and I only have my period four times a year which is great since it used to be the worst week of my month every month!
