Cramps>>>>>>>>>>>?!

Good Morning,

I'm sorry you're having cramps. I know they can be terribly painful for some people.

Here are some tips that I've used over the years as well as given to my three daughters for when they get cramps.

You can use an over-the-counter medication such as Midol or Pamperin which is geared to help with PMS symptoms and cramp relief.

Also, you can make a cup of ginger tea. Steep a regular bag of tea and then 1/4 tsp. of ground ginger to it with a splash of lemon juice and touch of honey. It's a stronger taste but it's not unbearable and is worth drinking. Ginger provides antiseptic, lymph-cleansing, circulation-stimulating, and mild constipation relief. It also helps persons who are carsick, airsick, and seasick or has morning sickness, ginger is one of the most effective herbal remedies for getting rid of the queasy feeling. It can also ease cramping, helping your menstrual cycle be more even in flow and it gives a warming effect to the body.

Take a long hot bath and relax. You can do this as many times as you need to.

Lay down and use a heating pad for 15 minutes max. per use. Make sure you have a towel between your abdomen and the heating pad so you do not burn yourself.

Ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) can also help with aches and pains.

Make sure you drink plenty of fluids such as water. Try to avoid beverages such as caffeine and sodas, as they will deplete your system of the hydration that you need.

Get a tall glass of ice and pour ginger-ale over it. Alternate glasses of ginger ale with water in drinking.

Avoid foods with acidic qualities such as tomato based recipes. Also avoid greasy foods and junk food. This will only add to the unease in your abdomen.

Chocolate - they say that this is a girl's best friend aside from Marilyn Monroe singing that Diamonds are (btw, they're not). (Grins) If you have hot chocolate in the house, try a cup of that as well to drink.

Make sure you get plenty of rest and it doesn't hurt to take a multi-vitamin at any age. Vitamins will also help to make sure that your body is getting all the nutrients that you need.

Good luck Sweetie and get to feeling better.. and have a good day!

get liquid advil (they work like a magic) :))

Try some Midol. Or a heating pad. I've even heard that doing crunches helps with cramps.

Hotwater bottle and some ibuprofen and painkillers!! works a treat.

drinking water helps a lot. and the week before your period starts, if you drink caffiene and eat chocolate, it will make your cramps WORSE so if you think youre going to be getting it soon, stay away from those.

ive also heard that exercise helps, but hell i dont feel like doing anything when im on my period XD

Do you have a heat pack?

When i get cramps i lay down with my lets up oon a pillow with a heat pack on where ever my cramps are

can be due to many reasons
1) tiredness
2)Dehydration
3) Vitamin deffficiency
4)Calcium deficiency
take medical advise if the problem continues for a longer period

depo-provera shot.
get it.

works wonders ;x

My younger sister had cramps so bad, she called Mom in the states all the way from her vacation in Mexico. She was in so much pain and so afraid. I mean, she had unbearable pain. The gynecologist put her on birth control pills, and now she is doing great. No more cramps.
I used to get really bad cramps, but I found that changing tampon brands helped me. No one is going to believe this, but it's true. I switched from Tampax to Ob, and I still get a little, dull ache, but nothing compared to before. Also, the lower the absorbency, and the more frequently I changed them, the less pain I had.
Also, ibuprofen (Advil) helps. As well as just staying in bed and resting.
Some people also say limiting caffeine helps. I've never really noticed a difference with that one.
I think meditation/yoga can help with pain, too.

Try some of these home-remedies:
