What could this pain be?!

Question: For the last few days I have had pain in my lower back, it does not feel like muscle pain, the pain is also in my pelvic area, both sides. It is a bit like period pains but in my back too. Painkillers relieve it a bit. Any ideas?

ok lets not jump to conclusions. everyone who is saying that its kidney stones have every right to believe that it is indeed kidney stones, because your kidneys are organs that are more in the back than in the front, but given the fact its on both sides and you havent mentioned anything about your pee looking like there is blood in it, it makes a diagnosis of anything to do with the kidneys very unlikely, so I would be very much inlcined to lean towards something going on in your reproductive tract. without anymore information about your symptoms or your age (because some gynaecological problems are much commoner depending upon age) it is very difficult to comment on what is causing your pain. best thing to do is to go and see your Dr. because your concerned enough about it to have posted on here to get advice from people who are likely to not be medically trained.

Kidney stones or kidney infection. You could also be feeling yourself ovulating. If it continues or if you suddenly develop a fever or get nauseated, see a doctor immediately.

could possibly be a trapped nerve, or an inflammed muscle, go and see your doc, he may be able to give you summit for it.

Maybe its a Kidney or reproductive problem. Consult ur Doctor for early diagnosis.

Could actually be the signs of your period about to come or it could be your ovulating. If your that worried would recommend seeing a doctor he/she will be the only person who will know the correct reason.

I agree with AW. Sounds like kidneys. Pains lower back, but not muscular. Usually feel the pain on both sides? Long ache like period pain? Doctor tomorrow.

It could be due to growth, how old are you? If you're younger than or around 16/17 then it's probably just widening of the hips that naturally occurs. See a physician or GP

i think it period pain but advise to visit your doc

I had a problem like that once before and I was diagnosed with Pelvic Inflammatory Disease. There are many reasons this happens. You can have gonorrhea or chlamydia, which I had neither I had bacterial vaginosis. My doctor told me it was from an overgrowth of bacteria and my body not cleaning itself properly. So Definitely go to your doctor. The second time I had this problem I was diagnosed with endometriosis.
