Question: ok, i'm far away from it, BUT. when you turn 18 do i have to go to the doctor and have them look at your private to see if you have something wrong down there? do they have to swab it? i was told this and i REALLY don't like getting physicals either. please answer!

You don't HAVE to, but I would urge you to do it. They are the only ones that can check for cervical cancer, STDs and other infections... and that's the only way you will know you are healthy. It's not really a big deal, it's only once a year! It's not painful at all, and the 'swabbing' is called a pap smear. I don't really enjoy going, but it's something I know I need to do to ensure my health.
BUT if you become sexually active prior to turning 18, you might want to consider making an appointment then.

getting swab or undergoing pap smear is done on females who had sexual intercourse or is sexually active. Getting physical examination is the best way of preventing any serious condition, if found with any abnormality. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure sweetie!
