Question about starting a new pack of birth control?!

Question: Hi, I just started using Yaz last month and i have the last four pills left. I'm expecting my period sometime soon. After four days when I'm done with these last four pills, do I just start using a brand new pack and continue on like normal? Or do i have to wait for my period to show up and THEN do start the new pack? Thanks... :/

Start the new pack as soon as you are done with the pills (do not wait for your period). If you don't then the birth control might not be effective. You need to take the hormones at the correct point in your cycle regardless of your period. Sometimes it takes a couple months for your body to get used to hormones (similarly you cycle could be messed up for a couple months when/if you stop taking the birth control). I hope this helps!

you start your new pack immediately after you finish the inactive pills. One pill each day, forever. Even if you are still on your period, start the new pack.

Well I don't want to give you the wrong advice because my girl friend takes these pill and she always wait until her period starts and than take the pill but you should ask your doctor to be sure.

I went through that same thing as you ....and I just started my new pills ight away. What did your OB/GYN tell you what to do ....if you have doubt give them a call.
