I've had my period for 3 weeks! Help?!?!

Question: I have had my period for 3 weeks already.... and it has been heavy and it is still heavy... I am 13 and I am really scared. I want to go see a gyno but I have never seen one and I don't want my parents to know.

So do you have any ideas what is happening? Also, how can I get to a gyno without my parents knowing?

I'm really scared. I told my friend and one of their moms know... and maybe she could drive me to Planned Parenthood.... but..... if you could give me answers that will help in any way then I will be really grateful and I'll give the best answer lots of stars. Thanks for any help. :-)

I had that happen to me except it was for a month. You don't necessarily need to see a gyno. Definitely tell your mom that you've had your period for three weeks. The only thing other than it really sucks for having it that long is that you I'm sorry to say, your losing alot of blood which can lead to being really pale, dizzy, tired, sad, or even feeling like your about to faint. Eat protein and iron. When I had that happen to me I went on an iron pill, although I still am on it. Plus gynos can tell when you've had sex, it's not anything to do with masturbating. Don't leave it to yourself that your having your period for this long, if it goes on for way too long consider seeing a doctor. And if you do decide you really want to see a gyno you can tell them not to tell your parents especially when you are still a virgin (which you still are) Please don't be ashamed of masturbating, it's completly normal. Best of luck.

okay so you already asked this question.

and everyone already told you to go talk to your mom....so why arent you doing it....

and it probably isnt something you stuck up your vagina a year ago, you would have seen symptoms sooner JUST GO TALK TO YOUR MOM IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR HEALTH

It could of been the "Fingering". What kind of stuff did you use? (Seriously)

sweetie you need to go to the doctors
you have done nothing wrong

but what is wrong is having your period for 3 weeks

i know sometimes these things can be awkward or embarrassing to talk about, but it you had a cut on your body that was bleeding for this long you would get it looked at right?

if you can't talk to your parents, talk to a teacher? the school nurse? talking to a friend's mom was a great idea, just follow it up......

take care of yourself

Uh, if you were having a breakdown I doubt you would be here on the Web. Sounds like you are having fun with a little creative writing here. Anyway, you MUST go to a gynecologist if indeed your story is true. If not, find something else to do. Why can't you tell your mother of this problem? I suspect it isn't even true but maybe it is. Some people post some whoppers here on Yahoo and you posted this before. You cannot go to a gynecologist on your own because you are a minor. You need to have your parents (mother) make an appointment for you. And dear, you claim all this embarrasses you to no end, but you admit to us that you did all sorts of stuff to yourself last year. Either you are indeed into creative writing or you are not as scared as you claim to be. I suggest you tell your mother of your problem and then have her take you to the doctor.

don't be ashamed. tell your parents. they need to know that there is something wrong with you

well not to make u worry but u should go to the doctors becuse theres posibilities of you being in danger
Were your periods pretty regular before this?
Other than a possible miscarriage from a pregnancy, there are several reasons for having a lengthy period. You could have benign tumors (called fibroids) that are causing the bleeding, or you could be experiencing a hormonal imbalance which prolongs your period. There are other causes also but what you need is a doctor to examine you to determine what is causing this. It is important not to let the bleeding go unchecked as you can develop Anemia from the loss of blood. I urge you to see your physician to have this checked out

if u dont want ur parents to find out but u want to go check go to ur doctors office and tell them its private they cant ask no questions and cant tell ur parent unless its life threatning(they can get in trouble if they do) and they take u to ur doctor to have ur private chat ^_^ hope everythings ok
