Don't expect to just 'come on' and have regular periods straight away, you may bleed a little now and then have nothing for a couple of months!
Talk to your GP if you need help or advice, but 14 sounds like the kind of age you will be starting your period.
Make sure you carry some sanitary towels with you, just in case :)

Not necesarily. if you're athletic, you may have been stretching a lot and stretched your uh vagina. If it is painful down there, and there isn't a flow that comes out later this week, it probably is just a cut from stretching. When I was in 6th grade, I found spots, rather red lines in my underwear. I had gotten a cut from stretching in gym. It was a bit painful, but it went away after a while. Stretching didn't help, and I did have more red spot incidents later that year.
You will know when you have your period. Well, actually for me, (I was in 9th grade) and I had finished jumping on my trampoline while it was raining. I went to take a shower, and my underwear was dyed a gross brownish color. I thought I had pooed my pants, but I hadn't. If the stuff is in you for some time, it might not come out red.
