Health concern?!

Question: When doctors take your blood pressure why most times don't they tell you the results.? I went to the doctor and the nurse looked on me in surprise and asked me how my blood pressure is so low, but suprisingly when i went to see the doctor she mentioned nothing at all about my pressure. What are your thoughts about this?

im a medical assistant and part of my job is to take blood pressures on the patients
i for one always tell my patients what there pressure is
but i can understand why in your experience they dont mention it
partly because if they see that you have a consistent pressure ( close to the other times youve been to the office) they wont say anything
unless docs see it as a concern, i dont think they will say anything
but dont hesitate to ask! you have the right to know
as far as the nurse being suprised- she probably does not know your history as well as your doc
and some ppl have low blood pressure all their lives and tahts normal for them
some have high and thats normal for them
so its possible tthat in comparison to the nurses other patients your pressure was lower and she was surprised
but as for your doc knowing your history he probably knew that that pressure was normal for you
i also have low blood pressure and tahts normal for me
and since your blood pressure fluctuates depending on your daily activity and mood i woudnt worry too much about it
unless theres a DRASTIC change -- relax otherwise youll just make your pressure higher by being nervous

You need to speak up if you have questions.

well you should ask them what it is. most people arent too concerned about their blood pressure so they thats why the probably don't mention it.

i think that they dont wanna tell you till they are shure
like 100 percent shure of exactly whats going on with you
or you might get the wrong idea
& if their wrong , it looks bad on them

They are probably too busy thinking to give you information. Ask questions if you have them.

blood pressure isnt the same all the time..
it depends on alot of things..
it is constantly changing..
if you take your blood pressure after working out,
it is going to be higher because your heart is pumping faster

nothing to be worried about. if the doctor was concerned he/she
would have discussed it with you...

Good luck and have a wonderful day!

ooooo...... from now ask da docter and if he doesn't answer, bribery will make your dreams come true.....hehe

Most the time is your blood pressure is normal they won't bother saying anything. Usually they just say if its low or high.

YOu should have asked them

i get that too, its not really a problem if its low so they don't bring it up, however i'm not a doctor, so you should ask them next time. Matter of fact i will too

They may not have seen it as a concern. If it concerns you you needs to ask why that might be the case.

If you dont ask you'll never get!!!

one the nurse could have read the pressure wrong
two she might have told the doctor before you saw him
three if your not scared of the doctors then you wont have a high blood pressure and the nurse might just have been surprised they that your weren't afraid

then your blood pressure is fine... dont worry... its measured in rather small numbers because you only have the air thing on for like 30 seconds

it measures your diastolic over systolic pressure... or ... for lack of better termonology.... sorta the measure of how strong your pulse is

It is your feeling Nothing serious. relax
