Mammography: I was called back for more views. I had my first digital mammograph!

Question: Mammography: I was called back for more views. I had my first digital mammography and I was told because it went from analog (films) to digital many women are being called in. I was one of them and I am freaking out. On the left breast I saw this dense white long thing going horizontally while all my veins were vertical. They need more pictures on that breast they said.
Has anyone heard being called back because going from analog film mammorgraphy to digital pictures is the reason to call back? I am freaking out.

I've never had a mammogram done, but I've read about the switch from film to digital. It's very common for woment to be brought back for further imaging. The digital tests are much more sensitive to differences in breast tissue, so there are quite a few more false alarms. Nothing to be worried about!

I just had my first mammogram. The technician did say that sometimes they have to call you back if the doctor doesn't think the technician captured all the angles correctly.

If they thought you had an issue, they would just tell you and ask you to come back in. They never mislead you about that stuff.
