I have my period for more then 3 weeks? Help!?!

Question: I have had my period for 3 weeks already.... and it has been heavy and it is still heavy... I am 13 and I am really scared. I want to go see a gyno but I have never seen one and I don't want my parents to know.

So do you have any ideas what is happening? Also, how can I get to a gyno without my parents knowing?

I'm really scared. I told my friend and one of their moms know... and maybe she could drive me to Planned Parenthood.... but..... if you could give me answers that will help in any way then I will be really grateful and I'll give the best answer lots of stars. Thanks for any help. :-)

Okay, first of all. This is nothing to be embarrassed about. My best friend actually went through this. When she got her first period, it never stopped, it lasted for weeks. It went on until she finally got really weak from all of the blood loss through her period. The way that the doctor fixed it was to put her on birth control. Her body had to be tricked by the medicine to make it stop having her period. She eventually grew out of it, but just needed a little help in the beginning. Don't be scared. I do think that you need to talk to your parents, because this could be serious. It's nothing you did wrong. Hope this helps!

talk to your parents - 3 week periods are NOT normal!!! please please tell your parents, they can help you and if its something medical they are there to help.

please get this taken care of immediately as it can be a sign of other serious health problems.

TELL YOUR MOM!!! now would be best too!

Like you said, go to Planned Parenthood. Why wouldn't you want you parents to know? It sounds serious enough to be their concern. I'd say you should go to the ER, but dint waste time and try to keep it from your parents.

this happened to someone I know, if you are very stressed, that may be the reason, but you defenetly have to tell your mom, she will not judge you, thats what she is there for. youll be glad u did

Talk to your parents.

Please don't be embarassed. Something might be wrong, so you don't want to wait any longer. You didn't do anything wrong - there's nothing to be ashamed of.

Good luck. :)

just go up to your mom and be like
mom i've been on my period for 3 weeks now.
and im kinda concerned. will you take me to a doctor.
im sure she will totally understand.

best of luckk giirl!

ok hun im sorry to tell u think but i think u should tell your parents it is the right thing to do and at this point it is the only thing to do becasue i am also 13 and my periods are pretty heavey. i think you should go to a doctor as soon as possible becasue this seems really seriouse so tell ur parent and go vist a gyno
good luck

Is there a chance that you are pregnant sweetheart? I saw the gyno for the first time at 13, so it really is a good thing for you to do anyway. I hope that you feel comfortable enough with your mother to talk to her. I know it's scary, but hang in there, it will be okay. But to bleed for 3 weeks continuously is not really normal sweetheart. You need to see a doctor. They can help. Don't worry. If you don't really feel comfortable enough to talk to your mom, do talk to your friends mom or even the counselor at school. You need to talk to a trusted adult. It will be okay : )
God Bless you.

TELL YOUR MOM

I second that..3 week periods are definitely NOT normal! Listen, if you have never had sex, you have absolutely NOTHING to worry about, there should be no reason you cant tell ur parents. Dont tell ur dad, that would be wierd, but talk to ur mom about it. Shes there for you whenever u need her. You dont wanna keep putting it off because it could be something really really serious. It shouldnt last more than one week. So trust me, talk to ur mom about it so she can handle it before it gets too serious. Hope I helped =)
