A cyst is just a small sac of fluid. They can appear in many different places in the body. Ovarian cysts are very common in women and usually go away on their own. The doctor just wants you to come back in 2 months to make sure the cyst hasn't grown any. If they get too big, they can rupture, which can be dangerous. If the cyst is getting bigger, they may recommend removing it. But in most cases they go away on their own. Nothing to worry about. The fact that your doctor is following it just means your doctor is on top of things and will make sure it doesn't get to the point where it can cause you problems.

Well, every month one of your ovaries produces one or more cysts that are there for the egg which your body is going to expel at ovulation. This cyst is normally like 1-3cm. Sometimes your hormones go a little crazy and it can get bigger - and sometimes it can stay there and keep getting bigger instead of going away like it's supposed to after ovulation.

So, Doc saying to come back in two months is to see if the same cyst is there and has gotten bigger. I get bigger cysts on my right ovary all of the time and they are more painful than when I ovulate on my left side, but they go away. That is just my "normal."

Ovarian cysts are normal to have. Often women don't even know they have them. They can come and go without incident. The Doctor just wants to check you in a few months to make sure it has resolved. On occasion cysts will get bigger and need to be removed by having surgery but this is in no way the usual. In most cases they do go away. Don't stress over it. I get cysts all the time and they have always gone away. Hope this helps.
