I look in the mirror and I don't feel like a woman...?!

Question: Not in the sense that I feel like a man lol
but in the sense that... I turned 18 in October
18 being the age of an "adult"
when i look at myself I look young
even just the way I feel, i don't feel grown up.....
people around me say I look older than I really am but I don't see it at all....

did anyone go through this? did it ever change?

Sometimes our feelings dont match our age. Its okay too feel younger. Actually thats a good thing as you age. When you marry and have kids you will feel as old as you are. Added responsibilities of life tend to do that to us. Enjoy the way you FEEL now. Dont worry about not looking your age!!

It will probably kick in for you in your mid-20's, maybe earlier. Right now, you're probably still in H.S. or just starting college, and everything still has that high school feeling with your friends and stuff. By your mid-20's, your peers are starting their careers and getting married, and that will make you feel like an adult really quickly! It's funny, I'm the youngest of 8 kids, and my husband and I were talking that 18-year-olds these days don't seem as "grown-up" as our older siblings did...back then you started training to be an adult around the age of 13. Now I think that starts around 18. Oh well, just enjoy being young while you can - adulthood and all the responsibilities that go with it come soon enough!

You expected a huge transition into an adult when you turned 18, when this in fact didnt happen because you look exactly the same as when you were 17. If you havent had a wardrobe change in a while this may be why you feel so young.

You could also try going to a hairdresser and have your hair done in a different style, and get yourself some new makeup products to make you feel more feminine. You could also try buying yourself some new clothes to change your style to a more mature and sexy look hope this helps.

I still feel kinda goofy because I look young and innocent... but the difference is now I am okay with it :) Being okay with yourself makes a world of difference! You'll grow into everything... including personal contentment...

So yes, I still look young and feel goofy. But now that I am about to graduate college I am started to feel like an adult somewhat... friends graduating, getting jobs, married, moving...

I almost feel I'm too young for such responsibilities, lol!

But good luck, things shall unfold for you!
