Question: I have been using NuvaRing for about 2 years, and I love it, but for some reason my period always starts 1-2 days after i take the ring out. Just wanted to know if this was normal for women using NuvaRing, or just birth control in general.

This is the way that hormonal birth control works. Your body responds to the sudden lack of hormonal control by bleeding. It usually takes 48-72 hours for your body to figure out it's not getting it's dose and it responds accordingly.

It's called "withdrawal bleeding" and isn't actually a period at all, but it IS completely normal.
