Menapause. what are other symptoms besides hot flashes?!

Question: I have been getting burning feelings in my head and neck. It's so hot that I feel like I'm going to freak out. I feel strange and
the burning lasts for about a few minutes. I feel exhusted after
and a little light headed. Any advice and info about the symptoms would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I can only answer from a personal experience on this question. I had a hysterectomy when I was in my mid thirties and I had heard about things that would happen, my Doctor warned me of side-effects, but nothing for years. Then I turned Forty! I started having hot flashes, but almost exclusively at night. I had night sweats. My migraines got worse. And, the hardest thing thing for me to handle, I gained between 5 to 10 pounds. I am forty five now and the hot flashes are not nearly as bad as they were. I would talk to a Doctor if I were you, to make sure that is what is going on. They ran a blood test on me because I went into menopause early. I can not take HRT (hormone replacement Therapy) as I am allergic to it, but you may be able to and it does work for some women.

Trouble sleeping, irritability, and mood swings.
