Passing tissue, what could it be?!

Question: My sister in law just called me in a panic that she passed a large piece of what she says looks like tissue, not a clot. She has been having light bleeding for three weeks now which is not normal for her, and today she just passed this tissue. She's worried and doesn't know what it is. She's afraid its a tumor or something. She said she's going to save it and take it to the doctor tomorrow. She's not pregnant because her husband has had a vasectomy (sp?). Does anyone have any insight? I can't seem to find anything else online. Thanks!

It sounds like a blood clot which is very normal. Does she have endometriosis? This can cause passing of clots and long periods of bleeding.
