Does she know for sure i'm getting my period?!

Question: I went to go get tested for an std and I told her (gynocologist) I was a little scared I was pregnant too, and I told her how I'm on birth control and I missed a couple pills but took them the next day, and how he pulled out and everything. She checked and said, "Your getting your period"

How could she tell?

and on my birth control it said I'm supposed to get it this week, but it's thursday...and The sugar pills started sunday. I usually dont get it for a couple days after Sunday..but I'm nervous.

She would know what she's talking about, right ?

The cervix changes appearance around that time of the month.

Your cervix changes throughout your cycles. During ovulation it is soft, high, open, and wet (S.H.O.W.). When you are not fertile or close to ovulation it is higher and hard and dryer and closed. The only way you can really tell the difference between these stages is to start checking and comparing. It takes practice.

As far as cervical position during pregnancy....it is usually does change but not at the same time in all women. During pregnancy, the cervix will rise a bit and become softer, but the timing of this happening will vary from woman to woman. For some, this will happen shortly before their period is due, but for other, this will not happen until quite a while after their pregnancy has been confirmed.

Checking the position of your cervix to determine pregnancy is not a reliable indication of whether or not your are pregnant. More reliable ways to find out if you are pregnant is take a sensitive home pregnancy test or by visiting your doctor for a pregnancy blood test.

Sometimes gynecologist can see pre-menstrual symptoms in cervix. Read more in http://www.menstrual-cycle.info developed by Prof.Dr. Gayane Dolyan.

It is strongly recommended to consult your doctor for professional advice. Above mentioned information and recommendations are just general and should be adapted to each person according to personal health indicators and status.

When you say she 'checked' what did she check exactly? I mean, without getting graphic or anything what did she do to check? Doctors - while trained professionals can also make mistakes. You are the best person to know your own body most of the time. Maybe take a pregnancy test just to be sure. I used to see a natural medicine doctor and she could tell if i was getting my period by feeling my pulse - a little wierd i know! Sometimes she was spot on and other times she said i was getting it and i never got it. Take a pregnancy test, thats probably the best way to keep your mind at ease.
