To clarify some inaccuracies posted above:
Plan B is NOT an abortion pill. If you are pregnant, nothing will happen to a baby. It is available over-the-counter for ANYONE (not just women!) over the age of 18.
However, it does not work by killing sperm - it prevents ovulation, or if ovulation has already occured, by preventing implantation of the zygote into the uterine wall.
It works best when taken within 72 hrs, but can be effective if taken within 120 hours.
Prices average $40 for a pack of two pills. You take one pill immediately, and a second twelve hours afterward. (Do NOT take both pills at once!) In rare scenarios, pharmacists do refuse to fill Plan B requests for "moral" reasons. In this case, please go to another pharmacy - that particular pharmacist is impeding your right to avoid pregnancy.
If you cannot afford the price, please don't panic or do nothing! If you have BC pills (but you forgot one, whatever), as Plan B is simply a high dose of regular bc, take 4 pills, repeat after 12 hours. If you are on a low-dose pill, take 5 pills each time. And see a doctor, too!

It`s called the morning after pill, you have to take it within 72 hours of sexual intercourse and it can prevent a pregnancy. Just so you understand it essentially gives you an abortion if you are pregnant.

Plan B is a package of 2 pills, you must take within 72 hrs of the unprotected sex. You can either take both pills at the same time, or one and then the other 12 hrs later. If you vomit you have to take another package.

First of all cat_85_9 is WRONG! Plan B IS NOT an abortion pill, it is an ultra high dose of birth control hormones, basically all it does is thicken your uterine lining and prevent the implantation of sperm into an egg. IF you are already pregnant and take Plan B it WILL NOT affect a baby, I wish people would have their facts straight before they post on these forums. If you don't believe me, call Dr. Drew on loveline 1-800-LOVE-191 and ask him... But trust me I know.
