How long are you in the hospital for a D&C?!

Question: I have to take my girlfriend to have this procedure done next week. They say it will be in Same Day Surgery. I'm just wondering if I should be prepared to wait a few hours or all day. Does anyone know? The procedure is scheduled for 8am.

Most of the answers on timing above are correct in most cases. Make sure you have someone who can take you home.... you may not be able to drive for a while. Have some 'heavy' pads at home waiting for your return from the hospital, there may be some bleeding/spotting for awhile as this is natural.

When I had mine it was an outpatient procedure.

I was out within 3 hours after the surgery.

It's usually a day-op, and just a few short hours

It will be a matter of hours 3 or 4 depending on how she does after the anesthesia.

Mine was a few hours.

in and out really quickly. I was still loopy when they released me. you may be there 3-5 hours

couple of hrs

Yes, it is usually only a few hours. It depends how the patient handles the post operative time (recovery) how long they stay - provided the procedure itself was straightforward.
