In the act of reproducing is it true that it's the mans choice of what the c!

Question: I've learned in my biology class that it isn't up to the woman what she has it's up to the man since he gives the final chromosome. Meaning it's almost like they can control what they give you. When me and my bf have our first child we want it to be a boy and if this is the case then that means he can control whether we get a boy or a girl. How is this possible if this is even true?

Not unless he's God.......don't even think about it! :)

This isnt true
Its just whats inside he genes of the sperm

yes the man determines the sex of the baby

Uh. you are very confused. A man's sperm DETERMINES wether the child is a boy or girl.... But it isnt like he conciously chooses what he wants.

It is the chromosomes in the male that determine the sex. However, you CANNOT control what the sex of the baby is.

And you and your boyfriend shouldn't be having a child....wait until you are married.

The sperm has either an "X" chromosome of a "Y" chromosome - X is a girl and Y is a boy. The mother has no "say" in the sex of the child! The stronger sperm will get to the egg.

Get married before you plan on having kids!

Yes and no. Yes because it picks either boy or girl. No because he can't say I want a son and 9months later out pops a boy. I remember learning that in school.

The man's body releases millions and millions of sperm each time he has sex. Half are coded to produce girls, half boys. He has no control over this. The end result is determined by which sperm penetrates the egg first, so it's in essence random. Many people have tried to make money over the years by claiming that they can help you have your choice of boy or girl. But no. There is no sure way. You can control IF you get pregnant, but you can't control whether or not it's a boy or girl.

Women have XX chromosomes. Men have XY. If the men's sperm gives the egg an X chromosome, it will be a girl. If it is a Y, it will be a boy. The man doesn't consciously decide. It's all dependent on his sperm. You have no way of deciding which chromosome the sperm gives the egg.

No males and females both put in 24 chromsomes each. Its a 50-50 chance on if its a boy or a girl.

Yes, it's true that a child's gender is determined by the father. All eggs have an X chromosome. Sperm has either an X or a Y. It depends on which one actually fertilizes the egg as to what the gender would be. If it has an X chromosome, it will be a girl, and a Y chromosome will result in a boy.

But he doesn't have any control over what happens. It's just whichever one happens to get to the egg first.

The mans sperm determines the sex of the child, but, he doesn't have anymore "choice" in the matter than the woman does. The first sperm to enter the egg will be the deciding factor. The only "choice" if you want to call it that, is creating an environment inside the woman's body which is better for male or female sperm. You can sway the odds a little bit by using a vinegar douch, for instance. This creates a more acidic environment, which is healthier for male sperm. My advice ld be to wait to have children until you are ready to be happy with whatever you get.

the sperm determines if you have a boy or girl. So the guy does determine the sex of the child.

lmao he doesnt actually choose, like he does not think hey i want a boy then he can have a boy, biologically his sperm can determine the sex but he cannot choose it knowingly.
