Yogurt with live cultures is a good way to keep the yeast down. The bacteria found in yogurt, which is acidophillus and bacillus is what keeps the yeast in your body in check. I just go straight to the source and buy the good bacteria in capsule form and take it every few days to help keep things balanced. If I have taken antibiotics then I add more of the capsules to my routine to ward off any possibility of getting an infection. You can buy acidophillus capsules at any health food or vitamin store.

are you sexually active? i was getting them and didn't know i had them in the early stages, me and hubby were having sex and he was giving it back to me. sucks, he had to be treated as well.

drink cranberry juice, and eat lots of yogurt.

I hear eating more yogurt helps, but honestly, you need the plain flavor with live active cultures, also cut way back on the sugar sweets... use condoms for awhile, if you don't already

Yea, I had the same problem when I started taking my pills. One way to help is to eat more yogurt. Try to stay on one pill longer and stay on them regularly because if you keep switching, you will continue to have hormone jumps which is what is one of the causes of the infections.. The antifungal pills will work, but you have to give your body a lil while to adjust to the hormones.

It is dangerous for your health to pick just any birth control pill and take it, as you already know by now, birth control pills can have side effects.

Please stop medicating yourself and go to a gynecologist so he can tell you for sure what's the best to cure your yeast infection and what birth control medication is better for you, good luck.

I know how you feel. I'm about to have to probably go back to my gynecologist, to have a test run or something on what exactly it is going on. I've been battling a yeast infection since the end of January. It goes away and comes back. The antibiotics he gave me aren't working. Maybe I'm doing something wrong myself? but it does suck.

I'm sorry though, I don't know if there is something else you could do. This is the first time I've had one also. Good luck, is all I can hope for you.

I agree with the other people. Don't medicate yourself. Go to a gynecologist, because he/she can tell you which birth control pills or whatever will be better for you.

Eat lots of yogurt with live cultures (low sugar kind if possible). Cut back on sugar because yeast thrives on sugar. Stay as dry as possible in your hot spots as yeast also grows quickly in warm moist areas. There are probiotic pills out there over the counter that be taken, look for acidophilus. Get yourself some Nystatin cream for topical use (for the itching and burning) Hope this helps. Oh and you also may want to get your blood sugar checked as yeast can sometimes indicate that your sugar levels are too high.
