This is totally normal! Here are some sites that you can go to:

Don't forget that when you first get your period it will be irregular. It can take a year or two to be regular and a major change in your environment, diet, and exercising can throw off your period. I hope this helps!

nope, absolutely normal. your period will probably be irregular for the first year or two. it can be heavy like that and drip a lot. just make sure you have pads!

That sounds normal to me. Each month your period may be different. One month it might be lighter and one month it might be heavier. And if you are new to your period, that could definitely be why you are heavy right now. When I first started my period, I remember the flow being quite heavy, but it definitely got better over time.

No this is normal. You aregoing to go through quite a few changes before your period becomes regular. Don't worry.

no, mine was the same way. But it your periods are frequent, like 14-15 days apart, i would go get it checked. And as long as your not kinda dizzy when you start your period, i wouldnt worry much. But try using tampons if your comfortable with wearing them. Much luck, =)

Maybe maybe not. You need to let your mom know what is going on and possibly see the doctor especially if you have cramps to since a heavy flow and severe cramps are a sign of endometriosis. Also since your flow is heavy make sure you are on an iron suppliment so you do not become anemic

Congrats on getting it :]
But it can become a pain.
Don't worry, it gets better as you get older. I've had mine for a year and a half, and it's not as bad cramps, and lighter (mostly).

What you describe sounds like me earlier today. Haha. Perfectly normal.

nope. That is normal. It starts out heavy for the few times and then after a while it eases up.

your totally fine! itll almost always be heavy in the begining and then let up after a few days, it probably seems like soo much because its so new to your body! itll get better honey!!

Well, I'm pretty new to having a period too, but apparently it can get heavy like that, and it only lasts for a day or two. Hope it gets better. Are you cycling regularly yet?

no its perfectly normal for the first couple of months or so its going to be irregular and maybe you might miss one or two months that perfectly fine.

no.. because the same thing happens to me up until the third day. so there's absolutely nothing wrong with you. .....unless there's something wrong the both of us.LOL. jk

Thta's fine. Usually when you have your period the flow is very heavy on the first 2 or 3 days then goes regular for the following. After your period stops you get spotting which is just tiny drop of blood so you should wear a pad for the next few days after your period finishes. I'm sure you already knew about spotting but i just wanted to give a little extra more info.

no it's apart of natural life. some women have short and light periods and others have heavy ones don't worry about it.
