Too embarrassed to ask or tell my doctor?!

Question: I was told I have bacterial vaginosis. I read somewhere that suggested putting a probiotic capsule directly into the vagina to help this condition. I did and now I'm afraid that maybe I did something that will cause me some problems, like, what if the outer capsule doesn't break down - will that cause some kind of obstruction or infection. Help, if you know anything about this kind of thing.
I feel so stupid!
My doctor had prescribed clindamycin vaginal cream for the BV but I was afraid to use it because of the warning in the insert about possibility of potential severe colitis being one of the side effects.

The pH of your vagina and the mucus and the infection in your vagina will breakdown the capsule you inserted. You may or may not notice it coming out.

All meds have side effects, take what your doctor gave you or next time speak up and ask if there is anything else you can take.

Go back to your doctor!!!!!
They hear about these female problems EVERY DAY!!!!
Don't be embarrassed!!

You should just the cream he prescribed. All medicines have some side effects that can occur but they are rare. The benefits of these medicines far outweigh the danger of the side effects. Probiotics can help with yeast infections, but not with bacterial vaginosis.

Ok you need to go to a OBGYN asap and get pills to take for BV. I had it and it went away in 5 days. No creams or anything work.

You got diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis.

Your doctor prescribed clindamycin vaginal cream.

You used a probiotic capsule that you heard about.

And now your embarrassed to tell your doctor?

if your doctor gave you something for it then USE IT!! those warning labels are for like maybe 1-2% of the people that it happens to. you'll be fine. just use it. don't try to self medicate, instead you could make it worse. Doctors go to school for many many years, just use the cream. Plus its not like your doctor can talk about it with anyone. patient privacy laws.

You should have listened to your doctor!! (they usually know what they're talking about) Go back to your doctor and tell the doctor everything! Never be scared to tell your doctor something... they've heard it all and they're there to help!!
