BC Pill out of sequence?!

Question: I take my birth control (ortho tri-cyclin lo) everday at the same time, but for some reason today I was half asleep and took one of the green placebo pills when I should have taken a white "active" pill. I noticed the mistake a few hours later and promptly took the white "active" pill that I should have taken.
The company's website says that the green ones are placebos, so I dont think it will be a problem that I took it, and the pill should still be effective since I took it only a short time after, right?
Does anyone who is more familiar with this topic know if this will effect anything?
I'd really appreciate the input.
THANKS!

as long as you took your active pill, there really shouldn't be a problem. Your green pills are there for you to take so you don't fall out of routine. Taking a green pill is basically like taking no pill since it has no purpose but to make sure you continue to take a pill everyday for consistency.

Just remember that when it is time to take your inactive pills, that you'll have one day where you don't take one so you stay on track.
