Question: A few girls in my class were talking about having sex and we're only 14 years old. My friend had it for the first time in SIXTH grade. We're now in 8th and she's had sex about 6 times. I'm starting to have dirty dreams about seeing my bf naked...is that normal???

Yes that is normal. You are ready when you are ready emotionally and physically. Just because everyone else is doing it doesn't mean you have to. In my opinion you shoud wait until you are married to have sex. You need to know all about protection and things like that. I would talk to your mom (don't be scared! she can talk to you and help you!) Don't let anyone force you to do sexual things that you do not want to do. You should also go to the doctor with your mom. Mom and doctors are there to help you with this kind of stuff. Please do not rush into sexual things. There is no need to rush. What if you get pregnant? You still have your whole life ahead of you and your dreams and your goals. What if you get a sexually transmitted disease? You need to think about all of this stuff. I will again say: please talk to your mom and doctor! Please do not let peer pressure make you do things that you are not ready to do and don't want to do. Sex is serious and not to be taken lightly no matter what anyone says. I definatly recommend waiting until you are married to have sex. There is no need to rush it! Trust me. I hope this helps!

Yea in 8th Grade is when we most of the people I know started being a lot more sexual [not necessarily having sex but more kissing]. I guess it all depends on the person, I'd say wait till you REALLY know what can happen with sex and wait for your body to develop. Having dirty dreams is normal, dreaming of having sex and stuff.
It's normal to have fantasies at 14. It's NOT normal to have sex at 14 or younger.
sex is not a recreational activity. it is a deeply emotional and bonding experience that shouldn't be taken lightly. wait until you're married or at least in a serious relationship and out of high school. trust me, it's worth the wait.
it's an emotional thing for girls, but not so much for men. if you rush into it, you'll get hurt, then get bitter, and never experience how deeply you can love someone.

To "fit in" kids will say they had sex at a younger age to be cool. When in fact they are still virgins. My best answer would be this....love yourself for who you are and who you will become. Sex DOES NOT make you cool or grown up. It does give you more problems to contend with such as, STD's, pregnancy, HIV, self esteem issues......It's normal to have dreams and feelings, however we don't have to act on them. Why not check out a planned parenthood website or google sex and teens for more information. When all else fails, ask your parents for advice, as hard as it may seem, in the long run they will love you for it.
its normal to have those dreams espessialy if thats what is going through your mind when your trying to fall asleep or even being worried about it will cause you to dream about it.
As for having intercourse at your age. Yikes!!! Hold up! your friends have already been there!?! OMG!!!! you should really evaluate them as friends and decide if they are really the kind of girls you want to hang out with or if its just because you have similare interests and get along. I say move on to more mature friends (by which I mean girls that don't go through the motions of an adult to feel older.) its pathetic that girls that age feel the need to even go there. your younge you have fun! hang out with friends go see a movie but DON"T GO THERE!
Also your friends (and you if you follow them off the cliff) are going to have serious medical problems when you get older. gross, horible, emberessing and expensive problems...I'm not kidding!!! as a pre med student I hear about it all the time. its sick. not to mention the risk of getting pregnant! just give that a quick thought.
A womens body hasn't fully developed until around the age of 20-24 depending on the woman. When you have intercourse its doing a lot more to your body then it can handel at that age. It causes it to start doing things that it shouldn't yet be doing and can even mess up your nervous system to say the least of the problems that can arise.
If you care anything for your future don't mess it up until your able to support yourself ENTIRLY! I dont jusst mean phone I'm talking about rent, appliances, gas, electric, car, food, education.... the list is endless. And thats not possible till you've graduated highschool or beyond. I'd say wait till then and only then. you'll have a better understanding and your first time will mean that much more to you then an immature "I want to be like my friends or like everyone else"
please please please don't do anything you will regret....And you will!!!! I garuntee it. And if your not sure you believe me....just ask yourself why take the chance if even 1 out of 10 or even 100 have huge complications later don't think you know what your doing because you don't and that 1 person could be you. why take that chance.
