Period blood is usually a brownish colour, noones period is exactly the same but with me it goes bright red in the middle of my cycle(sometimes other times) & goes browner towards the end.Ur period flow probly wont be the same all the way through. Not evryones heavyness/lightness is the same. Some woman r only on a few days(say 2 minimum & most woman class that as lucky). Some women are on 7days.Not evryone gets belly ache or backache some women get either or both.As u have a few periods ul learn how heavy(how often ul need to change ur sanitry product) & how long on average ul be on for.The 1st 6m to year ur periods may not come the same distance apart.Keep a record in a diary of each time u come on,how long ur on for & what ur period was like(belly ach, stopping midflow then starting again). This way over time ul get a pretty accurate idea once uv been having periods a while of exactly when ul come on(some women its an exact amount of days between each one, others not)& know when to expect it & be better prepared. If u hav any problems like a heavy flow or painful periods which can be normal for some women go & see ur doctor & they can giv u something for it so u dont hav to suffer atall or be inconvenienced. After a while ul get used to how ur body is & what to expect each month & will automatically do wots neccessary to make urself more comfortable. On average they last 4 or 5 days id say & u get the next one about 21 to 28 days later but as i said its not exactly the same for each girl so keeping a record helps a lot.Lastly but by no means least-remember starting ur periods means u can now conceive children should u have sex so if & wen u do make sure ur covered for contraception b4 u hav sex.In this day & age use a condom aswel. If he doesnt want to he doesnt love or respect u so tel him to forget it.Congratulations on becoming a woman.Ul soon get used to it.Hope my info has helped & reassured u a bit.

Since its your first one, it's normal for it to be very light and only last a short time. Your period will start again usually around 28 days later.

It is pretty common to have irregular periods at first don't worry about it.

you wont no when your period will start because you are a teen you are going to be irregular

Chill out.! the blood amounts can be very random. but in general it will bleed throughout a 5 day period . it doesnt really matter how often.

get a calendar and mark the day that it started and from there every month it should start around that date...i would suggest you talk with your mother or a older silbling such as your sister and also you can talk to your Dr. about it also ......

i'm pretty sure it comes every day for the first 2 weeks than it will come every month

Its just a sign of ur period coming soon.
Dont worry its will be in about 2 weeks when you fully start
Hope i helped :)

you said it was brown-ish and just for a (very) little bit, so i'd say you were just spotting for your first period. you will probably start up again real soon.

at first u won't no when ur gonna get it caue it's irregular

ask your mom about it. also there are a few american girl books that tell you about that stuff, look those up.

you should ask you mom or grandma, or a trusted adult in your life. I just got mine a little while ago when my mom was in the hospital having her baby....don't worry it will not be regular at first.

yes it is normal when you start it take time to get into a natural routine you could now go weeks before it starts up again this is very common

when i first started i got mine for 1 week then i went once about 4 months without one so my body could get into a natural routine

hope this helps

For some women, the period or 'cycle' takes time to run it's course and of course, your fine. Nothing to worry about.

If there is any spotting of some blood, that means it's just hard at the moment. But, I promise you. You are in no harm at all.

With you just starting you probably aren't going to be regular. you may have some spotting all month or you may go a couple of months without bleeding. Eventually, you will get regular but if you don't then you need to see a doc.

when I first started it only took a couple of irregular periods before I became regular. Now i can tell you which day I will start.

You may not know when you are going to have the next one. I know I started at school a few times which was very embarrassing because it wasn't just on my panties, it ran all the way down my leg to my ankles and wouldn't you know I was wearing WHITE PANTS. I will never forget that. It was in the middle of a class too and everyone saw it.

Periods are weird in the beginning because your hormone levels are between those of a child and woman, so you may get weird symptoms. Sometime the blood is brownish. The amount of blood you got was normal for your age, but not standard for an older person. Look for blood 28 days from now. If you don't get anything in 28 days, then it could come at any time.

If you get cramps, don't take aspirin or Tylenol as those two items don't treat cramping. Go for Ibuprofen with your parent's assistance of course.

That's very normal for the first time. You may just have sporadic spotting for a while and nothing else. Use a pad (or lightdays) until you know for sure. Make sure you keep track of your spotting on a calendar, and each time it happens until you do get a regular period. It's always good to know your cycle. Be sure to take extra care of your skin now as a lot of girls will have a very oily face during their periods and break outs are much more common at this time.

In all honesty, i don't know all those answers. But, talk to your parents. They are your number one source for information. I know its hard and embarrassing to think about, but its your best bet. Better than asking people you've never met!

IDK! Mayve ur weird...?

The blood can just come every few hours or it can be a heavy flow that is constant or even a trickle that is constant. The blood can be bright red to almost black. Depends upon how much is hydration. Also, since it is your first time, you may just have experienced a little blood at first. Often when people start getting their period the first year or so is just practice and you may not even be ovulating. I know of people who only have a period for two days and some as many as seven. I think three to five is normal. I am at the age where mine is stopping and my last one was about like your first. People vary a lot.

Okay. First of all. Your new at this so weird things will happen, your period will be off for the first year about. Yes the blood in the begining is brownish and will probably get heavier when you continue having periods. Yours right now is VERYY light. And your period will start again every 28-31 days. So if you get your period lets say today (depending on you, you will find a pattern soon enough) it will come again within 28-31 days. But since your new at it. Your period may not come for a week, or 3 months. Weird things like that. Good luck =]

idk... maybe you should ask your mom instead of strangers

Is it your first period? How old are you? If it is your first period, then you may be a bit irregular for a while. You could of been just spotting. I wouldn't worry now, just mark the day you started bleeding and next month you may bleed around that same time if not on that very day. you may know it is comming when your breasts feel sore or your stomach feels bloated or you feel moody or sad or you ger weird cravings. Keep a pad in your purse in case you need it when Out and you feel wet and your period has started.
