My question is about using Hormone Replacement Therapy.?!
Question: I was placed on hormone replacement because of early menopause from surgery removing the uterus along with my tubes. I am really concerned because of the risk of breast cancer. My doctor (gyn) does not seem concerned. Has anyone taken the HRT and discontinued after some lenght of time? I want to discontinue the pills. What are the effects of discontinuing the hormone replacement? Thank you.

Don't discontinue. Change your meds if you don't like the ones you're on now. Taking HRT when your young, and would normally be making high levels of natural hormones, is safe. It doesn't have the same risk as an older woman, who's body wouldn't be producing high levels of hormones, takes them. You will have hot flashes and bone loss if you stop.
